BOOZ ALLEN AND SMALL BUSINESSES

Our work with small and minority-owned businesses

Booz Allen believes in contributing to the communities in which we work and in helping their citizens obtain a fair share of available economic opportunities. Small and minority-owned businesses make important contributions to our work by enhancing our competitive edge and our performance on specific contracts. They also play a critical role in the future of the global economy.

As our markets across the nation continue to grow, we’re working to increase the number of small businesses that can qualify for teaming and subcontracting opportunities with the firm.

How Booz Allen Reaches Out to the Small-Business Community

Booz Allen sponsors and actively participates in various small business industry events every year. These forums offer small businesses an opportunity to network and market their products and services, and have resulted in many teaming agreements for specific procurements that Booz Allen is pursuing. Here are some events that we’ve participated in in the past few years:

  • Annual OSDBU Small Business Conference
  • DOE Small Business Conference
  • Navy Gold Coast Conference
  • National Minority Supplier Development Council Annual Conference
  • Navy Gold Coast Conference
  • Reservation Economic Summit (RES)
  • National Veteran’s Small Business Conference

In addition to industry events, Booz Allen is a member of many organizations supporting the global small business community. Our memberships include:

  • Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)
  • National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)
  • DOD Mid-Atlantic Regional Council
  • TRIAD
  • National Veterans Small Business Council (NVSBC)

Through these outlets, efforts to target small businesses, and our long-standing recognition of the contributions that small businesses make towards ensuring enduring results for our clients, we have many small business partnering success stories. For example, in government fiscal year 2020, we subcontracted over $1 billion to our teaming partners. Of those dollars, more than 66% went to small businesses.
